Omschrijving
A round silver snuffbox or tobaccobox with a bombé side. The hinged lid decorated with a silver twisted cord and set with a carved mother of pearl plaquette with erotic scene.
The underside mounted with polished mother of pearl.

The carved erotic scene after an engraving in a anonymus published French booklet from 1793: 'Les Costumes théâtrales ou scènes secrettes des foyers, Petit recueil de Contes, un peu plus gaillards, orné de couplets analogues. Dédiés aux jeunes gens ded deux sexes qui se destinent aux Théâtres.
Conditie
Good. Mother of pearl at underside a bit worn on the edges.
